External Rendering

There are three main different types of external rendering.

Firstly there is dashing, also known as pebble dashing. It’s a rough-textured finish created by applying different sized pebbles to a freshly applied coat of mortar and left exposed. This gives a freedom of style and colour to the outer wall.

Wet dash or roughcasting is similar to pebble dashing with the only difference being that the chippings are not exposed but mixed in with the mortar.

The final form is a straight forward external render where a plaster is applied in one or two coats directly onto a base coat or block work.

The style of external render you choose can be influenced by the style and location of the home, so it’s worth getting a trained professional out to your home to help inform you about the most suitable option.
